Goodbye Chris

Chris_2 Today I was shocked to read that WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit died. At first I thought that it was a joke or storyline (despite the fact that I read it on CNN.com). Chris was a great entertainer who I've seen on tv many times. I relate to his death because I met him in person once. Phil and I went to Niagara Falls back in 2003 and while we were on the Canadian side at the WWE Store, one of the employees told us that Chris was making an unscheduled and unannounced appearance at the Store. We waited in line for about 40 minutes (which is pretty damn long for an autograph signing no one is supposed to know about!) and when Phil and I met Chris, I asked him why this was a secret appearance. He told me that he was on vacation in the area because he had enjoyed it so much the last time he had come. He decided to do an autograph signing just because he was there. He was very very nice and very friendly, posing for a picture with Phil and me and never rushing us and taking the time to talk to us with real sincerity. Even though he was on vacation he took the time out of his extremely busy schedule to thank his fans for being there for him. I read yesterday he had to fly home due to a family emergency and then it was revealed that his wife and son were dead too. I pray that if there was pain in his family & his life that he finds peace in his eternal slumber.

Goodbye Chris, Heaven will be a better place with the Crippler.

24

My name is (not) Jack Bauer (but no coincidence the initials are JB)!

Holy hell i had my own 24 experience this morning. As I was slowly drifting into consciousness, I rolled over and checked my cell phone to see what time it was. As i 1/3-ish awakedly look at my phone, I see it's 6:35 am. After about 2 seconds, I was like, "OH HELL NO!" I say this as I have to be at work at 7 am.

So I jumped out of bed, managed to get dressed and awesome looking and out the door in 4 minutes. I'm thinking, "this is one of those days where i'll go to my car and see I have a flat tire or something." Luckily I didn't. Buuuuut of course my mutant power manifested itself so every freaking car got in my way. Regardless, I was driving like a chinese maniac out of hell (meaning I was driving Chinese Bad but also as fast as possible). That's still better than Chinese Slow. I prayed to the Patron Saint of Crazy Ass Chinese Drivers, and even thought about calling Jennie Ho, but I was in too much of a rush. Thankfully there were enough gaps for me to zoom zoom zoom (and not even in a Mazda!) through traffic and got to work.

6:59 am!

So i went from sleeping at my bed to sleeping at my desk in 24 minutes! Which is a freaking record as it has taken me 24 minutes to get to work period before.

One of my greatest fears in Football was shared by the Great Peter King today. In his Monday Morning Quarterback Column today he gave a breakdown of rankings of the starting Quarterbacks for all 32 teams. Naturally the Chiefs finished in 32nd place. Herm Edwards is systematically destroying my team.

1. Why take a super high powered offense and then make them a run oriented team?
2. Why piss off one of the biggest sparks on the team in Dante Hall (who admittedly hasn't been playing too hot as of late) to the point you have to trade him?
3. Why not draft or sign a cornerback? At least they got Wide Receiver but they have drafted very badly in the past few years. Snoop Minnis anyone?

Well enough rant for me. Late Happy Birthday Mark and I hope all of you wished your dad's happy father's day.

B!
