El Pollo....LIBRE!

There have been many firsts in my life (and many continuations that i'd rather not deal with like my mutant ability to attract bad drivers and the constant threat of FEDEX drivers trying to kill me). I've had interesting things like running my first road race (the grueling 7.7 mile Hospital Hill run), bad ones like almost getting killed by a FEDEX truck (2 times and counting), and one of the most interesting one was last Saturday. I decided to go to El Pollo Loco for dinner and i knew i was in for a long night when the dumbass in a big SUV couldn't go around the drive-thru corner properly and had to back up (and scared the hell out of me since i couldn't move my car) to readjust and run over stuff in order to get over the corner. So after that, I spend like 5 minutes or so waiting behind this dude (they only sell chicken! what the hell is taking so long!?!) So it looked like the person paid with their credit card 3 times because they kept giving their card to the worker. After what seemed like enough time to kill and cook a chicken, the dude finally left. As I drove up, i handed the cashier a $10 bill since i knew my food was between $8-9. She takes the bill, checks something on her computer, and then hands me my money back!
I was like, "Um, what's up?" Then she tells me that the SUV in front of me paid for my meal! That was pretty interesting! First time that's ever happened! I would have chased down the SUV to say thanks, but they went the opposite way i was going.

In other news, I made the paper! Well kinda. The Department i work for at the school (and yes this is the first time i've EVER mentioned my job in the blog, but this was too good to pass up) made the paper last friday (and not in a good way)

You can see it HERE at the Review Journal

Gotta love being a publicly accountable institution.
